Editing Blog

November 5, 2019 was the first day we started filming. We had a few delays with our SD card and with our computer that day. The first bump in the road was we could not find our SD card. We tried looking for it in the bin, but it was not there. We told our teacher and we searched through all the cameras for the SD card. Coincidentally, the last camera we checked had our SD card. Aniyah, Stephanie, and I were relived to find our SD card and we were ready to start working. We plugged in our flash drive withe the SD card in it and we were ready to transfer our footage to the computer, but our footage was not there. We were very confused, because we were so sure that the SD card we had was our SD card. Aniyah went to find or paper that contained the info stating which camera, tripod, and SD card we had.
So, we found out the SD card we had was not ours and our actual SD card was in the bin the whole time. We lost some time in the beginning of class because of the delays, but we were able to push through it. After importing our footage to Pinnacle Studios, we began working. We reviewed all our takes and picked the shots we wanted to use for the commercial. One fact about our commercial is that it is very funny. Our acting was not the best, but we definitely completed the commercial with great effort and angles. My group mates and I did a good job filming and getting all the angles we needed to get. We did a good job cutting things out and putting things together. The process went by smoothly, except for the times where our computer kept glitching. Whenever we played a clip from our commercial, our computer would either refuse to play or it would glitch and skip over a few things.
The slowness and glitches in the computer was time consuming and kind of frustrating, but we were definitely still able to work through it. After we finished putting things together it turned out smoothly. We decided to add two more things to our project: a voice-over and background music. We do not exactly what are going to say in the voice-over yet. We did decide that instead of having our regular in the voice-over, we are going to change our voice with a voice-changing app. For the background music, it took some time to decide what song to use. We knew exactly what characteristics we wanted the song to be. We wanted a song that was energetic, but not corny. We had two options. Aniyah came up with the song "Physical" by Olivia Newton and Stephanie came up with another song. We are still deciding, but I believe we will come up with a solid decision. Thats all for today and thanks for reading!
