Editing Blog: Editing the Beach Music Video

Today we will be talking about the editing process of the music video. As you know we filmed our music video Sunday at Hollywood Beach. With the many problems we faced while filming I was hoping that editing was the easier part of the project. To my expectations it was. But editing did have a couple problems per usual. First of all we were having difficulties with the original editing program we were suppose to use, Pinnacle. But last project we also didn't use that program we there wasn't much change because it was what we were use to. What we use to edit is iMovie. Its the easiest for us to edit on compared to Pinnacle. The scenes that we filmed the first day at the beach were not usable so admittedly we knew that we couldn't use that in our video. Unlike that footage the rest was great and clear. One of the first things we knew we had to do was edit the actual song into the video footage. If we didn't do this the music video would be just us singing and dancing to no song. We also had to edit the seagulls quacking. We also had to edit the sound of the waves crashing onto the shoreline. In the footage where we were dancing and doing the routine that we made up we had to do several things in editing. First was merging all the good clips together. We had several clips where we messed up or we weren't coordinated. Second is there were kids also at the beach, obviously cause its a public place, and they were in our shots. We also obviously had to merge all the clips together. As well as all the basic editing.
